A silverback seen from the side, the head low and the brow heavy, painted in a landscape format. The face is in dark blue and violet with the eye catching the light, the back and shoulders are turquoise, magenta and orange poured together wet, and there are splashes of the same colours around it. One collector said it captures its quiet power, which is what I was after. The gorilla is the head-on version.
Why it is a limited edition
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
Paper, inks and sizes
- Archival pigment inks on acid-free, museum-quality watercolor paper, so the texture of the original is kept
- Framed canvas options in a black wooden frame, ready to hang
- 15 sizes, from 8 x 10 in (20 x 26 cm) to 40 x 55 in (100 x 140 cm)
- Small sizes ship flat in rigid cardboard, large sizes rolled in a hard tube, worldwide with tracking
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

An amazing print gift for a friend who loves gorilla’s and appreciates art. Birthday isn’t until 24/10 but I am sure she will love it. It is stunning – she loved it. Said best present she has had from me.

I love this so much, captures it’s quiet power. Realism but with interesting colors. This is my new favorite artist.
