About the portraits

This series started as fashion illustration and moved somewhere else. Each woman shares the sheet with something from nature, a tiger, a pair of woodpeckers, a crown of roses, and the two are painted as one figure. The faces are done carefully, in skin tones layered thin. The hair and the animals are loose and wet. They are the most decorative works I make, and they suit the bigger sizes, in bedrooms, salons and boutiques.

Edition, paper and sizes

Every print in this collection is part of a numbered edition of 150, signed by hand. When an edition sells out it is not printed again. You choose between archival pigment inks on museum-quality cotton paper and a framed canvas in a black wooden frame, in 15 sizes from 20 × 26 cm to 100 × 140 cm. I print and check each one in my studio and ship it flat or in a hard tube. If you are new to editions, my guide to limited edition prints explains what the numbers mean.

The same paintings in other forms

Some of these works are still available as original watercolor paintings, one of a kind. The designs also exist as wearable art: fashion art T-shirts, fashion art mugs and fashion art pillow covers.
