A walrus in profile with the two long tusks hanging down and the bristle moustache drawn in white lines over the wash. The head is orange and rust, the body is cobalt, violet and indigo poured together and running off the sheet in drips, and the small eye is a dark dot. Splashes of blue and orange around it. It is a portrait format; the boy in the photo is holding the 16 x 20 in size. It is often bought with the octopus and the owl as a set.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
