The green-crowned plovercrest is a small hummingbird from southern Brazil with a long thin crest that curls up from the forehead. I painted it perched on a cluster of orange and gold blossoms, the body in layered greens with a cobalt blue throat, the crest as a few wet strokes of teal. Turquoise and lemon splashes behind it. It is a portrait format. There are several other hummingbirds in the shop; the violetear is the most popular.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
