Barn Owl Art Print, Signed Limited Edition Watercolor

A barn owl facing you, with the heart-shaped white face that the species is known for and two dark eyes in it. I left the face and chest as bare paper with a thin outline of gold and blue, and put all the colour into the wings and back: magenta, yellow, cobalt and orange with white speckles, running down in red drips. It is a portrait format and my most reviewed owl after the great horned owl. There is also a barn owl in flight.

Why it is a limited edition

Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.

• Small sizes ship flat in rigid cardboard, large sizes rolled in a hard tube, worldwide with tracking
