The whale shark is painted from above, the way you see it when you drop in beside one: a wide dark back scattered with white spots, pale grooves along the flanks, the tail already turning away. The freediver with her long fins gives it scale. She is barely longer than its pectoral fin. I kept the whole painting in one blue-black pigment and clean water, with ink splashes for the plankton around them. Divers buy this one more than any other print of mine, and it hangs well beside my humpback whale and freediver.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
