A turkey vulture in profile, with the bare red head, the pale hooked beak and the ruff of dark feathers below. I painted the head in magenta and pink, the body in indigo, violet and black poured together wet, and let it all run off the bottom of the sheet in drips. The splashes are the same colours. It is a portrait format and a favourite with birders and people who like the bird most others overlook. There are other vultures in the shop: the king vulture and the bearded vulture.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
