A red Shiba Inu with its tongue out and the smile the breed is famous for, ears up, looking at you. The coat is orange and peach with the white of the cheeks and chest left as bare paper, cobalt inside the ears, and the body running down in orange drips with blue splashes around. It is a portrait format. More than one owner has told me people thought it was a portrait of their own dog.
Why it is a limited edition
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
Paper, inks and sizes
- Archival pigment inks on acid-free, museum-quality watercolor paper, so the texture of the original is kept
- Framed canvas options in a black wooden frame, ready to hang
- 15 sizes, from 8 x 10 in (20 x 26 cm) to 40 x 55 in (100 x 140 cm)
- Small sizes ship flat in rigid cardboard, large sizes rolled in a hard tube, worldwide with tracking
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

AHHHH! THIS IS SO AMAZING! I just got this piece back from my local frame shop and I CANNOT WAIT to get it on the wall!!! The picture is gorgeous, really vivid in color, unique, and creative! It looks a lot like my Shiba Inu dog, but the use of watercolor is such a cool way to create this gorgeous spashlike effect. Love! ❤ Thank you for such a beautiful piece of work!

Looks SO much like my dog that people thought it was a custom painting of him!
