A spotted hyena head-on, which nobody expects to be pretty, painted in hot pink, orange, yellow and violet so that it is. The round ears are purple, the muzzle is dark violet, the eyes are level and intelligent, and the whole thing runs down the sheet in pink and lilac drips. It is a portrait format. Hyenas are among the most capable hunters in Africa and the reviews for this one tend to come from people who know that. There is also a striped hyena.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

This is so gorgeous. The colors just jump off the fabric. More beautiful in person even than the photo. The pillow was nice quality. Will make such an amazing new addition to my “peace room”.

This was a gift from my boyfriend. It is so gorgeous. Hyenas have a bad rap that is undeserved. The artist captured the beauty, intensity, determination, and survivorship of this one. Truly will cherish this. The colors are so beautiful and vibrant. Even nicer in person than in the photo. Thank you so much.

I just received my beautiful hyena watercolor and I am so pleased with it. The spotted hyena is extremely well painted and very realistic, the artist got the hyena anatomy right on and the beautiful colours used bring this lovely work of art to life. I look forward to having it framed and placed on my living room wall so I can look at it every day.
