A chimpanzee looking at you with a slight smile, painted in turquoise, violet and indigo with the face in pale lilac and the amber eyes as the warm notes. The hair is laid in long strokes that run off the bottom of the sheet in drips, and there are peach, pink and green splashes above. It is a portrait format. One collector bought several of my chimpanzees to give to a sanctuary. The baby chimpanzee and the colourful chimp are the others.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
