A green sea turtle can hold its breath for hours and finds its way back, decades later, to the beach where it hatched. I painted this one from above in blues and violets, each plate of the shell as its own small wash with a dry edge, so the pattern reads from across a room. For bathrooms, coastal houses, and anyone who has swum with one.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

One of my favorite animals is a Sea Turtle (such as this one). I love the watercolors because it brings life to my home which I have been basically stuck in for 18 months. But I chose this piece because watercolors are so unforgiving and it takes true talent to be able to do this. I will treasure this. It gives me a brief escape to the sea.
