Nurse Shark Art Print, Signed Limited Edition Watercolor

A nurse shark swimming left, the bottom-dwelling shark with the broad head, the barbels under the snout and the long tail, painted in a landscape format. The body is plum, magenta and burgundy with turquoise on the fins, set against orange, pink and blue washes with drips. It is one of the gentlest sharks and this print is popular with divers who have met one in the Caribbean. One reviewer got a small jellyfish print as a surprise with it.

Why it is a limited edition

Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
