Two king penguins face to face, one on each side of the sheet, with the orange ear patches and the yellow throats and the long orange stripe on the bill. The black is painted in indigo and teal with white speckles, the chests are bare paper, and there are orange and red splashes between them with drips below. It is a landscape format and is often bought for a wedding or an anniversary. The emperor penguin is the bigger cousin.
Why it is a limited edition
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
Paper, inks and sizes
- Archival pigment inks on acid-free, museum-quality watercolor paper, so the texture of the original is kept
- Framed canvas options in a black wooden frame, ready to hang
- 15 sizes, from 8 x 10 in (20 x 26 cm) to 40 x 55 in (100 x 140 cm)
- Small sizes ship flat in rigid cardboard, large sizes rolled in a hard tube, worldwide with tracking
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

Everything was great. I was disappointed that the painting was only a print. But that was my fault I reckon. I was thinking the painting was on canvas. (I bought 2 paintings so I was double disappointed)
I think if each painting should state it was a print that was noticeable when someone looks at the site.
