The harpy eagle is the largest eagle in the Americas, and it wears a crown of grey feathers that stands up when it is alert. I painted the head in profile with the crest raised, in layers of grey, indigo and a little lilac, the hooked black beak as the darkest mark and the pale breast fading into a few warm ochre washes. The splatter around it is the only colour. It is one of my most reviewed birds of prey, often bought by birders who have seen one in Panama or Brazil.
The original watercolor painting is listed separately: see the original harpy eagle painting.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

Beautiful. The pictures on Etsy don’t do it justice. I was immediately happy I decided to buy her painting. I will most likely purchase more of her artwork.
