A great blue heron standing in the reeds, neck folded, with the long orange bill and the black plume at the back of the head. I painted the body in grey-blue and lilac with a peach wash on the neck, and the reeds in loose vertical strokes of green and teal with ink splatter, so the bird is sharp and the marsh is not. It is a portrait format and one of my most reviewed wading birds, often ordered by people who see herons on their morning walk.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

The heron and colors are beautiful! I can’t wait to hang it but it is out for framing so I must be patient. I received a free gift which my daughter (a teacher) loves and has taken for her classroom.
