A Galapagos giant tortoise walking left, head out, painted in a landscape format so the whole shell fits. The shell plates are orange, coral and violet with each scute drawn in a fine line, the legs and neck are blue and purple with the scales picked out in ink, and the eye is a single dark dot. Splashes of the same colours around it. It is one of my most reviewed reptiles, often bought in pairs for a student room or a child’s wall.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
