A California condor in profile, the largest bird in North America, with the bare pink and orange head, the pale hooked beak and the ruff of black feathers painted in indigo and teal in long strokes. Pink and green washes with splatter around the head, drips below. It is a portrait format. There were 22 condors left in 1987; there are more than 500 now, and this print goes mostly to people who care about that.
The original watercolor painting is listed separately: see the original California condor painting.
Why it is a limited edition
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
Paper, inks and sizes
- Archival pigment inks on acid-free, museum-quality watercolor paper, so the texture of the original is kept

The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
