A blue shar pei, which is a grey coat with a lilac cast, painted in exactly those colours: slate, violet and pale blue laid over each other so the folds of the face form where the washes overlap. The nose and the small sad eyes are the darkest marks. Rust and red splashes on either side are the only warm notes, and the lower half runs off in drips. Owners of the breed buy this one, sometimes in memory of a dog they have lost.
The original watercolor painting is listed separately: see the original shar pei painting.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

Absolutely Gorgeous!!! The pictures are beautiful online, but seeing it Framed & in-person still far exceeded my expectations. Plus it was shipped immediately & arrived all the in USA from Bulgaria in only 2-3 days (packed securely in a wood frame to avoid damage & wrapped in plastic). I loved it so much that we are buying 3 additional smaller framed prints to compliment & finish out the room. AMAZING!!!

Hi, I sadly lost my beloved Baloo, aka The Blue Bear. And this picture is so like him. Very happy with it, the quality is great, even nicer in reality. Great to deal with, and very fast delivery.
