A male hooded warbler in profile, looking left, the bright yellow face framed by the black hood and throat that give the bird its name, and the olive back and yellow belly. Behind it are three small branches of orange leaves and a scatter of orange, yellow and violet dots. It is a landscape format. It is a songbird of the eastern United States, and the print goes mostly to American birders.
The original watercolor painting is listed separately: see the original hooded warbler painting.
Why it is a limited edition
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
