A capybara in profile, nose up, with the blunt face and small ear that make them look permanently pleased. I painted the coat in tan, rust and burnt sienna with teal poured into the shoulder and chest, so the whole lower half runs down in green drips. The whiskers are fine ink lines, the eye a single dark mark. It is a portrait format and one of my most reviewed prints from the last few years, often bought as a gift for someone who loves the animal.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.
