The horse is painted almost entirely in blue, from cobalt in the mane down to pale cerulean drips at the bottom, with orange and ochre on the blaze and the ear so the face comes forward. The head is turned slightly towards you, eye half closed, the way a horse rests. I worked wet into wet so the mane runs into the neck without a line anywhere. It is one of the first paintings I made in this style and still one of the most ordered, often as a gift for riders.
Each print is made in an edition of 150, and I sign and number every copy in pencil under the image. The edition is small so that every copy can be made properly: the file is scanned from the painting itself, printed on museum-quality cotton paper with archival pigment inks, compared with the original in daylight and corrected until the colours match, and only then signed. When the last copy is sold, the edition closes for good.
The frame is not included unless the option says Framed Canvas. Not sure which size fits your wall? Write to me with the width of the furniture under it and I will suggest one. Reproduction rights remain with the artist.

This order took a long time to come, partly because it was coming from overseas, but also because of the virus foolishness slowing things down, but it is finally here and I am very pleased. The horse is beautiful, the artwork is unusual and well done, and the artist even included a pineapple that is equally pretty. I will enjoy both, but the horse is outstanding.
